This 2-hour fun-packed course is called “3D Hard Surface Prop Creation from Scratch”. In the course, you will be learning how to make a hard surface prop, a fire hydrant, to be precise. Some of the software products that are commonly applied in comic and CG styles will be employed – Blender, Substance Painter, Photoshop, and Marmoset Toolbag. Whether you are a beginner or have some practice in 3D modeling, you will find many useful skills and tips in this course that will help you enhance your work.
Next, we will compile references and establish the primary form of a fire hydrant in the 3D model with Blender. Next, you will convert these primary shapes into a High Poly mesh and UNPACK the model to make good use of UDIMs in UV Space. That is when your model is prepped, and you're ready to import the model into Substance Painter to bake mesh maps and create manual materials. You will also be able to create stencils in Photoshop for decals for correct projection painting in Substance Painter, learn how to combine all the materials and save the texture maps with the correct settings.
Lastly, you will set up your model to be rendered in Marmoset Toolbag and optimize for UDIMs, then have your final fire hydrant ready to be rendered. As this is an intermediate course pertaining to 3D Hard Surface Prop Creation from Scratch, artists at an entry-level are also welcome. This course provides information and tips that will enable you to enhance your model-making ability and design remarkable hard surface props.
